About Us

Our Story

Kirkby International College is a registered private higher education institute, approved by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.  We aim to be the best private teacher training provider in the region.

Kirkby International College offers pre-service training for school leavers who wish to make teaching a career.  We offer schemes for graduates to gain an internationally recognized post-graduate diploma in teaching, programmes for diploma in education holders to gain teaching degrees and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes for practicing teachers.

Kirkby International College is a centre of excellence for learning. We are at the forefront in using technology and multi-media communication to enrich and enhance learning experience and to explore challenges in education.

Our Philosophy

Our educational philosophy is based on the premise that everyone has the potential to learn about the world around them. We focus on what is to be learned and measure and accredit learning achievements. Every learner is assigned to a personal tutor to ensure they receive quality contact in the classroom, at a distance and online. At Kirkby International College learning is active, captivating and interesting and we stress that learning is ultimately about how to think for oneself and how to behave as a responsible world citizen.  

We encourage students to ask questions rather than expect ready made answers and to note that when one question is answered many more emerge, laying down the basis for lifelong learning. 

We explore principles relevant to many teaching situations and see how to apply those principles in practice. We examine issues in the teaching profession and try to find answers about the training, ability, and practice of teachers in basic education.

Our mission is to provide teachers with information and experience that empower them to develop their own capabilities and the capabilities of their students. We aim to develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities of teachers through education, training and research that focus on the talent development of every child. 

Facilities on campus

Bookshop

The bookshop stocks a wide range of text books, art materials and stationeries equivalent to some bookstores outside campus.

Computer Labs

The college boasts state-of-the-art computer labs for learning and research. The primary goals of the computer labs and classrooms is to provide assistance to students that will enhance their chances of succeeding in technology-based classroom assignments and to provide access to equipment that will support the needs of instruction where we celebrate life-long learning. The computer labs support the curriculum of the college and the assignments of the instructors. We encourage you to use these facilities with the help and guidance of your instructors.

Library

Our Library has a good physical infrastructure and a wealthy knowledge base. Our collection comprises of books, journals, conference proceedings, audio video, microform, theses and dissertations. We also offer access to electronic resources such as e-journals, databases, citation indexes, and bibliographic management software. The library stands to support teaching, learning and research needs of the college.

Cafeteria

A wide variety of food is served at our cafeteria for breakfast, lunch and tea. Our cafeteria is open to students, staff, community members, and any other visitors to the campus.

Car Park

Kirkby International College offers free parking for all students and guests. There are about 900 parking bays available.

Auditorium

An on campus well equipped auditorium for Internexia students for lecture purposes. The auditorium can accommodate 150 - 200 students. 

Kirkby Hall

Kirkby International College Hall can hold a larger number of students and guests at high-profile events. Situated in at the core of campus, it will be used for events such as graduation ceremony, seminars and other activities and events.

Surau (Prayer Room)

Surau or prayer rooms are provided for Muslims to perform their solah.

Wi-Fi Campus

WiFi access is as essential to education as classrooms and computers. Wi-Fi service is available for students to access the Internet anywhere on campus.

Science Labs

When you hear anything, you forget it sooner than the activities you see. But when you do any activity physically or let us put the term, practically, it stays in your mind even longer, since you do the experiments understanding the deep theory and concepts involved in it. These science labs are for our students to  

Kindergarten

Kirkby International College is place not only for high school students and working adults but it’s a place for infants too. Kirkby International College Kindergarten is located at the back of campus with ample parking for guest and parents, good security, outdoor playground and well equipped class rooms.

Transportation

Kirkby International College offers students with bus services from the hostel to campus to and fro daily with a timed schedule of five to six times a day.   

Accommodation off campus

Desaria Villa Condominium is one of the popular off campus accommodations for Internexia students. It is a 10 minute drive from Desaria to campus and it is easy to get to Kuala Lumpur, Puchong, Kajang and Putrajaya. There are banks, shopping malls, bus terminals, restaurants, LRT station and taxi stands close by.
